We are very please to announce the results of the Cuisine Magazine Viognier Tasting.
CJ Pask Gimblett Road Viognier 2010 was the only wine to be awarded 4.5 Stars and also took out the coveted Cuisine 'Best Buy' award which recognises incredible value for quality.
Very small volumes of this special aromatic variety were made. This is your chance to buy a six pack before the magazine is available in store. Here's what the judges had to say.... "Rich, exotic scents, reminiscent of honeysuckle, orange blossom and apricot compote – arrive in a dense swarm. Those themes, together with a pinch of ginger, persist in the mouth, where crisp acidity keeps the opulence in check. A balanced, vibrant wine fashioned by the very experienced Kate Radburnd." - Cuisine NZ Viognier tasting 2011

Riflemans Chardonnay Claims Tropy at Easter Show - 2010
An indication of the extent to which New Zealand winemakers have raised their quality bar has been the increase of top medal awards in the first day of judging at the 2010 Royal Easter Show Wine Awards in Auckland. The newly appointed chair of judges, Kate Radburnd comments:
'White wines from the 2009 vintage and reds from earlier vintages, mainly 2008, reflected the evident focus of the winemaking community on improving quality by lower yields in vineyards and continued honing of their winemaking technique. The gold medal wines are top class by the highest international standards.
'Ms Radburnd, who is the chief winemaker for CJ Pask Winery in Hawkes Bay, made history when she became the first woman to chair a major national wine competition in New Zealand.' Terry Dunleavy, Director
